A total of 150 females comprising new staff members of the Ministry of Tourism who have been attending a training course in Tourism and Hotel Management graduated with a Certificate. This was aimed at promoting the tourism sector in Eritrea. It should also be noted that tourism is one of the most income-generating economic activities in the country.
At the graduation ceremony, the Minister of Tourism, Ms. Askalu Menkerios, was present, Mr.Tekle Firezgi, Head of Human Resource Development in the Ministry, pointed out that the training was organized with a view to giving impetus to the process of tourism services standardization. He further disclosed that it involved aspects dealing with crime and danger prevention such as that of fire extinction, as well as prevention of narcotic drugs, besides immigration regulations.
The one who represented graduates said that they would step up efforts towards furthering National tourism development. In conclusion, the Tourism Minister emphasized the trainees to demonstrate commitment in the sector to the satisfaction of their customers in order to promote the nation’s image.
